Citizen Men's BL9000-59F Calibre 9000 Minute Repeater Bracelet Watch

Stylishly appointed and technologically advanced, this Citizen Men's Calibre 9000 stainless steel men's watch offers a Minute Repeater function that's great for keeping track of passing time. With the push of a button, the Minute Repeater chimes the hour, quarter hour and minute. This large, round watch is topped by a thin, polished bezel that provides an extra-large landscape for the two-tone dial face (with a sunray silver center surrounded by black). It's supplemented by two subdials (one for tracking another time zone and the other displaying the month) and Arabic numeral date markings along the outer edge. It also offers large luminous hands and Arabic numerals in a Roman script at the 20-minute points.

This watch is powered by Citizen's unique Eco-Drive, which absorbs sunlight and any artificial light through the crystal and dial to recharge the watch continuously. With regular exposure to light, the Eco-Drive continuously recharges itself for a lifetime of use. This watch's Eco-Drive provides a 270-day power reserve. It also has a perpetual calendar that automatically adjusts for odd and even months and leap years through 2100. It's matched with a silver stainless steel bracelet band that's joined by a deployment-clasp-with-push-button. Other features include a non-reflective, scratch resistant mineral crystal and two alarms to keep you on time for appointments.

Eco-Drive Frequently Asked Questions
How can you tell if the Eco-Drive watch is getting enough light? In normal use, the watch displays the time and the sweep-second hand moves in one second intervals. A very important feature of Eco-Drive is the Low Charge Warning Mode which as a result of low battery voltage, causes the second hand to jump two seconds at a time (while still keeping correct time).

How long will an Eco-Drive watch run after it is fully charged?
If your watch is put away where no light is available to it while in a fully charged state, depending on the model, it will run for from 45 days to 5 years.

How can the Eco-Drive watch be recharged?
Besides sunlight, it can be safely charged by exposing it to a fluorescent desk lamp, with the dial (face) up and within about 8 inches or an incandescent lamp (regular light bulb) no closer than 20 inches. Never use a halogen lamp since the heat generated by it can cause damage to your watch. The most efficient and the quickest is in direct bright sunlight (not windowsill) and never on the dashboard of a car.

About Citizen
One of the world's largest watch makers, the Citizen Watch Company was founded in 1924 in Japan from its beginnings as the Shokosha Watch Research Institute. The first watch released by the company was named "CITIZEN" and its name was selected so that it would be "close to the hearts of people everywhere." Today, Citizen is recognized as a worldwide leader in advanced timepiece technology, from the world's slimmest LCD watch to the first voice recognition watch to the world's first professional dive watch with an electronic depth sensor. Citizen was also the first to sell watches made with titanium in the world, which is not only light and durable but also non-allergenic (as stainless steel can be to some wearers). Most recently, Citizen has released watches powered by its Eco-Drive, which runs continuously in any kind of natural light or artificial light for a lifetime of use without changing a battery.

4Great Minute Repeater  Dec 19, 2007
By C. Nakatsu
This is one of those watches that are part of the ecodrive line where the watch gets charged by ambient and sun light. I like the looks of the watch and I get a lot of compliments. the overall design is quite modern perhaps overly so for some taste. At 7 oclock you have a multifunction dial that can show a second time zone, month and year from last leap year, alarm time.

At 3 oclock there is a second hand. There is a video on you tube of a commercial for this watch that shows this second hand moving in a semi sweeping movement fashion as it moves between the ticks that mark out each second but it doesn't move like that.

The minute repeater sounds pretty good as it tries to mimic a mechanical chime, but I dont think there is any mistaking that the sound is electronic even to an untrained ear.

I like the dual button clasp and the bracelet hasn't snagged any hairs off my arm yet.

Overall I think the watch gives you a lot for the price.

5Great Watch  Jul 27, 2008
By T. Willoughby "Todd"
I have had many watches, from TAG to Citizen to Accutron. I have to say this is one of the best and most accurate watches i have ever owned. Great design by Citizen, and people are always asking about it. The orange date hand really sets this thing off. The repeater function is nice if your in a dimly lit area where the glow from the dials and hands barely show, then the repeater make it easy to tell the time. This is my 2nd Citizen watch the old one I had was about 10 years old (Promaster series) and worked great until I replaced it with this model. The band is pretty scratch resistant and holds up well to "desk diving" (scratches on the underside of the band caused from rubbing on the desk surface) Citizen makes a durable and reliable watch that wont disappoint.
